Stockwhips are one of the most fun whips to crack if you like faster routines. They tend to be lighter whips so you do not tire quickly. The longer handle provides a lot of leverage for quick changes in direction and helps to keep the crack away from your mount when using them on horseback.

I use a fiberglass handle, usually with a half-plait. These will generally have a smaller heel-knot, though I prefer knots with more passes and bights than you will usually find.

The thong will be either a 12 or 14 plait count, in one or two colors.
